Bermuda

Spent last week in Bermuda on a trip that wasn’t very much like what I sort of set myself up for. Thankfully, I flew with my bicycle (which only cost $50 instead of $100 after some careful haggling with Air Canada) and was able to bike around much of this 53.3km2 island.

Even if I didn’t go for golf or stay in a resort or any of that stuff most non-residents go to Bermuda for, it did turn out to be a bit more of a true vacation than anything. I didn’t take as many photos as I thought I would but I did take a few…

Flight to Bermuda. All I need.

Barefoot in da sand. Lost in the triangle.

LED fun at risk of getting lost in a riptide

4 minute exposure. I might have died.

Caves! Seriously, that is the colour of the water.

Spanish Point.

Home. (Stranded in Toronto for five hours)

More on Flickr.

GDP per capita in Bermuda is about double Canada’s. Even at the fair trade organic coffee joint, I was surrounded by hedge fund dudes discussing the economy. Totally bizarre scene, man. I mean, a shawarma costs twelve dollars. Rock Island has some of the best vegan muffins ever though.

Now I’m back in Ottawa, moving soon (within town) and patiently waiting for bus service to resume. Totally feeling the pain of it though. (Aren’t we all?)

Joyeuse deux-mille neuf!
